What is a Jubilee Year?

A Jubilee year is a special year set aside for forgiveness and rest. In the Jubilee Year of Mercy, special emphasis rests on being merciful like the father."Our actions need to authentically reflect God's mercy."

Read our Parish Introduction to the Jubilee Year.

Visit the USCCB site for Mercy prayers, reflections, and more.

Archdiocese of Cincinnati Pilgrimage Site

In accordance with the Vatican, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati has set aside pilgrimage sites throughout the Archdiocese. St. Helen is privileged to be one of two sites in Dayton, and our Holy Door of Mercy is open.

The church is open to pilgrims from 6:00am-3:00pm Monday through Friday, Saturday 7:30am-6:15pm and Sunday 7:30am-noon. We will also accommodate special groups as we are able.

Read our welcome letter here.

What does all of this mean for me?

The Year of Mercy calls us to know mercy and show mercy in a very intentional way.  One way we are working on this at St. Helen is through our Mercy Challenge.

Each week we will publish in the bulletin and post on social media one practical way that you can live out the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. Use #SHMercyChallenge to let us know about it.

Also, check the bulletin for our upcoming Mercy Matters series.

Come Visit.
