The Sacrament of Confirmation is not the sacrament of graduation. Instead, it is where a person's soul is sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, which empowers that person to live out their baptismal call more fully. Much more than a rite of passage, Confirmation is each person's great commission to "Go out to all the world and tell the good news" (Psalm 117:1).
At St. Helen, the Sacrament of Confirmation is normally celebrated in the 8th grade, but students must be enrolled in a religious education program (either Catholic school or the St. Helen Religious Education program) for a minimum of one year before receiving the sacrament.
