With the action of the Bishops and the announcement made by Governor DeWine on May 12th, lifting the mask & social distancing mandates, we will implement the following changes beginning Saturday, June 5th.
confession
- Confession will be offered weekly, on Thursday evening, from 6PM-7PM, at both St. Helen Parish and Immaculate Conception Parish.
- Confession will take place in the Confessional at St. Helen and in the Chapel at Immaculate Conception Parish.
- If you feel it is in your best interest to wear a mask and social distance while waiting for the confessional, we encourage you to do so.
ARRIVING AT MASS
- For safety reasons (non-COVID related) we will continue to use the entrances we have been using, the main wooden doors or the east ramp door. The doors will be closed and secured approximately 15 minutes after the start of Mass.
- Every seat and row will be available for Mass attendees.
- Masks are no longer required; however we encourage and support anyone who would like to continue to wear a mask during Mass.
- We will have a designated section of masked and socially distanced seating (every other row with two seats between households) for those parishioners who feel they would like to sit in that area. This area will be marked with signs and be located in rows 19-23 on both sides of the church. Please be respectful of people's preferences.
- Devotional candles will again be available at the side altars and in the chapels.
- During Mass, we will continue to utilize the collection box. It is located at the foot of the sanctuary, just to the left. No formal collection via passing baskets will take place.
- As the dispensation has ended, we will no longer pray the spiritual communion prayer aloud at Mass, it will continue to be available to those participating on the live stream
- Parishioners will once again be asked to bring up the gifts of bread and wine for the priest.
- We will continue to offer only the precious body at this time.
- We will again participate in the Eucharistic procession. The presider will distribute the Eucharist to parishioners seated in the socially-distanced area, and the extraordinary ministers will assist the deacon with the rest of the church.
- Water will be added to the baptismal font at a later date.
- At the end of Mass, you may exit through any of the doors.
COMMUNION
- At this time we will only be offering the Precious body and you should receive in your hand only.
- Those seated in general seating will participate in the Eucharistic Procession, coming forward to receive communion.
- The celebrant will offer communion to each individual seated in the socially distanced area, moving through the open rows. If you do not wish to receive communion please cross your arms over your chest and they will offer a blessing.
