Welcome to  St. Helen Parish!

It's  the

"Year  of  C-O-N-N-E-C-T-I-V-I-T-Y"!

Because the more we know one another, the more we can share Christ's love.

St. Helen Church is located in Riverside, Ohio, and serves the communities of Dayton, Riverside, Beavercreek, Fairborn, and Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  We are a family of approximately 1500 households, and we operate a school with an enrollment of approximately 400 students.

The MISSION of St. Helen Parish, a Roman Catholic community, is to bring Christ to people and people to Christ through Word, worship, and service, embracing people of every race, language, and way of life.

Our VISION is to know the fire of Christ’s presence so deeply in our lives that we challenge all to become increasingly grateful and responsible stewards of God’s blessings.

PARISH COLLABORATION
Our parish is unique - with special gifts. This is something we cherish. However, we are part of a much greater community in the Archdiocese and the Universal Church. As the Archdiocese plans for the future, we also focus on the context of the larger community.

THE "ONE BREAD, ONE BODY" PARTNERSHIP
The tri-parish communities of St. Helen, Ascension and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception are now  "The One Bread, One Body Partnership"! Together, we share friendship and our faith through rotating national holiday Masses and Advent/Lenten reconciliation services, pulpit swaps, training of liturgical ministers, and other ministerial and social events.  Father Satish Joseph has written "The One Bread, One Body Partnership Prayer," and, along with the art teacher at Immaculate Conception, has designed a partnership logo.

FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Parishioners,

I am very grateful to be a part of St. Helen Parish! It is easy to see that from the day of its founding, our community has been on fire with a passion for this parish and its ministries.

During this past year, Parish Council has taken input from parishioners to build a plan for our future. The process has culminated in a renewed commitment to our liturgies, the education of our children, and our life as a stewardship parish grateful for God's blessings. The plan is now in place and is ready for those wishing to pursue ministries that call to their hearts.

Please take the time to review our mission, vision, and goals, as well as the priorities that have been set for the coming year. Then, in true St. Helen fashion, join us as we seek to make a difference in our community and our world.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Fr. David Brinkmoeller
Pastor

SAINT OF THE DAY
Saint of the Day
St. Thomas the Apostle (July 3, 2009)
Poor Thomas! He made one remark and has been branded as "Doubting Thomas" ever since. But if he doubted, he also believed. He made what is certainly the most explicit statement of faith in the New Testament: "My Lord and My God!" (see John 20:24-28) and, in so expressing his faith, gave Christians a prayer that will be said till the end of time. He also occasioned a compliment from Jesus to all later Christians: "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed" (John 20:29).
