The Shrove Tuesday celebration will take place immediately after in the school gym.

In ancient times people rid their homes of animal products because it was a necessity.  Today, we can emulate  the ancients in a symbolic way by “getting rid of products” that we enjoy but which are not necessary.  Our  “Feast” (held in the gym after the evening’s prayer and fire) before the “Fast” (which we have during the rest of Lent) is a great way to kick-start your Lenten journey in a way that emulates what was done in ancient times.
