St. Helen Parish Prayer

Eternal God,through the ages You have revealed yourself
as a God of steadfast and faithful love.

You sent Jesus, your son,
to redeem us through Your saving love,
and the Holy Spirit to enkindle in us the fire of that love.

We come to you today as the Parish of St. Helen.
Like the prophets of old,
may the fire of your love burn in us;
Like the disciples at Pentecost,
may the fire of your love impel us.
Like your faithful witness in the early Church,
may the presence of Your love empower us.

Thus impelled and empowered
by the fire of Your love
may we increasingly become
grateful and responsive disciples of Christ.

May the word, worship and service
in our parish
be a celebration of the fire of Your love.

We pray this in Jesus’ name.
